Tonight, my last roommate who got two no credit and had to go college chated with me on QQ. he told me that how "good" he thought in college. He said that there are ten students in his class, but some of them never go to class. more importantly, his teacher said that it is OK that her students are absent, becasue here is the college. furthermore, my last roommates complained that the college is so small and there are only two thouand students. I told him that becasue it is a college... At last, i told my last roommate that he must go to class everyday and finishes all his homework on time if he still wants to go back to ohio university. And the guy said he will see me in OP class two quarters after. How bad the guy is!

In her story, she says that her mother is a dark, yet her father is a white. However, the author never noticed that her parents were different colors. Once she watched her parents in a church when the author was a junior. She found that how white her father was, and how dark her father was. When her parents married, the country had laws against interracial marriage, but her grandfather was not against them. Last, the author says that everyone is unique. We have lots of differences. But in DNA, we are 99.9% the same, we need to remember that.

I have a neat yellow wooden desk. It is about 0.8 meter tall, 1 meter long and 0.5 meter wide. There are three drawers inside of my desk. In the last drawer, I put some books, especially novels and academic books. I like books which are full of logical, such as whodunits and math books. If you see my second drawer, you must consider that the drawer is a miniature storehouse. Samsung cell phone, Canon camera, and Casio watch are in this storehouse. I also put my cute Chinese dolls, a comb, and a hair clipper in a corner of the place. In the first drawer, “weapons” are used by me everyday. Those are textbooks and pens. I can’t study without them. I still need them to arm my brain. Besides, you can see a big black ThinkPad laptop and some colorful kooks on my desk. The black one is necessary for my daily live. A Longman dictionary and a green notebook are nearby the laptop. Compare with the dictionary, my notebook is more exquisite and likeable. Obviously, the most things I have are books, kinds of books. That’s my tidy desk.

In this book, a policewoman’s partner was killed, so I followed the story and found out the murderer with her. If I read some strange conditions, or found certain clues, I would guess who the killer was and speculate bad guys’ tricks, as if I was Holmes. I also like textbooks, of course. Although I sleep as much as I can every day, I like learning English. In my opinion, learning the second language very good is quite exciting. But some problem are difficult to be solved, with the number 1 of these is vocabulary.

May 21 Today there was the International Street Fair, which ran from 11AM to 5PM , was a collaboration of the university’s international student groups and nonprofit community organizations. Education is expensive. I can't depend on my parents to pay all my bills. I have tuition, room and board, books, and incidental expenses to pay for. For instance, some students learn better by discussing a topic. Others learn more by writing about it. Teachers can help students learn in the way that's best for each student. A textbook or a manual can only give you one way of learning something. Plus they're only as helpful as your ability to understand them. A good teacher can adapt her teaching to your needs.

Recently one of my friends will move to Shanghai from New Zealand and she asked me which aspects she might not adapt in Shanghai. I think that it is as follows: Firstly, she may think that the air pollution is very severe in Shanghai. As everyone knows that New Zealand is a developed country known for its beautiful natural environment. There are fewer industry plants in New Zealand than in Shanghai. So New Zealand is a very clean and beautiful country, just like a garden. However, in Shanghai the air pollution is still out of control. When you come back home from your company every day, you will find that your shoes are covered with dusts. What is more, my friend may find that the streets in Shanghai is very croweded with traffic. The population of Shanghai is 13 million, which is much more than that of New Zealand. She might find uncomfortable travelling in the streets of Shanghai During rush hours.

Nowadays some may hold the opinion that computers have made life easier and more convenient, but others have a negative attitude; they say that computers have made life more complex and stressful. As far as I am concerned, I agree that computers have brought more advantages than disadvantages to our life. My arguments for this point are listed as follows. One of the primary causes is that computers have improved the quality of life in our society. They have brought to us more conveniences than ever before: whether we book a plane ticket, arrange a travel to foreign countries, or hook up a telephone line, with the help of computers and modern technologies, they can be done in a few minutes by simply a phone call or a few key strokes; we will not have to run from one place to another, and wait for thousands of years before we can get the services we want.

Before traveling to a new place, we can check on the computer what the place looks like, what spots are must-sees, and how we can get there. We can get information from the internet on how to get a drivers license, how to write an article on a topic, and even take simulation tests on a specific subject. The computer is such a great learning and information tool!

In the first place, there are many advantages when people travel in a group. First, people will not feel boring in a long trip. People can talk, laugh and make joking like a big family. Second, the group will help you a lot when you have any emergency. The people in the group could help you figure out the awkward situation that will be unimaginable when you travel alone. Third, with the group discount, such as the discount for airplane ticket, the hotel, and the admission ticket, travelers can save a lot of money when they use the group discount.

Travel alone means that I can meet new people more freely. I can meet not only the other travelers, but also the local residents whenever I travel to a new place. If the person I want to meet is not available at the present time, I can even reschedule my time. But if I travel in a group led by a tour guide, I have to stick to the schedule. I have to take other people’s time into consideration. That means I will lose a lot of chances to meet new people. Travel alone also means I can try new things personally. I can go anywhere I want and do something different from my lifestyle. Another option is to sit in the park and listen to the people around you. Among various options, visiting museums might be the easiest way. Museums show you the history and art and those things that the locals think important by exhibiting objects and works, some of which might be unique in the world. On the other hand, the museums themselves are part of the landscape of the places. Many museums are designed and built based on the historical and artistic characteristics of the places where the museums are located in.

Technology has greatly improved the way we get information. Students can now get more information, get it more quickly, and get it more conveniently. The Internet and the World Wide Web has opened every major library and database to students around the world. Information comes not only in print form, but also in multimedia. You can get audio and video data. You can get information about events in the past as well as events that unfold as you watch your computer monitor.
May 21Today there was the International Street Fair, which ran from 11AM to 5PM , was a collaboration of the university’s international student groups and nonprofit community organizations. Over 30 groups will have stands at the fair selling food, crafts etc. It is the biggest Street Fairs that OU has experienced. Today was so hot but there were many people on the street. Some of them stood in a long line to buy food and drinks. Also, some of my friends were the sellers to promote their goods. I took many pictures and it was a happy day.May 22
I do strongly support the idea that we should keep trying and never stop working for our goals. I think this is the most important thing that can help us to achieve our goals. I believe thateverybody meets many obstacles in their lives before achieving their goals. I have learned the biography of some famous people in the past. I found that almost all of them persevered through enormous hardships in order to reach their goals. Education is expensive. I can't depend on my parents to pay all my bills. I have tuition, room and board, books, and incidental expenses to pay for. I'll try to get a scholarship to cover some of these costs, but I know I will be responsible for a lot of the expenses. If I spend my money now, I won't be able to pay for my education. I need to save money for my education.
Travel is also very expensive. I don't mean vacation travel. I mean travel to get to and from school. Transpacific airfare costs a lot even special reduced fares. I first have to get to school and then, of course, I want to return to my family for important festivals and occasions. Going back and forth will be costly, but worth it. I need to save money for these trips.

If my stress comes from my family or my friends( foe example, some misunderstanding and squabbles), I think that the best way to erase this stress is a sinere conversation. I will positively converse with my relatives and friends. I hope that I can know what is their opinion and also let them understand me. I feel that when we understand each other, all conflict will disappear.
In a word, everyone can find the best way that is suitable for himself/herself. But conservation and appreciating music are the most suitable for me to erase stress.
May 28this is the end of the ninth week, and next saturday we will have the Toefl test. some of my friends said that their could get out of OP, but some of them felt not so good. for me, i think i am so familier with toefl, because i took it many times. However, i have not got a good scores. i hope i can have a good time at the day a week from now.
